It's been said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and for Our Hope of Burlington, that journey means creating a better tomorrow for many area residents faced with life-limiting illnesses.
The Mission of Our Hope of Burlington is to foster health-related research , education and activities that have a direct impact on the communities that support it. The monies received go to health care providers who are committed to helping people in the Burlington area with life-limiting illnesses.
The recipients include Aurora Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Parish Nursing Services-Memorial Hospital of Burlington and UW Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Shawn Verdoni, Philanthropy Associate, Visiting Nurse Association, said the partnership with Our Hope plays a significant part in the VNA's ability to reach out to the communities it serves.
Linda Schiebke, Special Events Manager for Children's Hospital Foundation, said, "We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of Our Hope. With our partnership, we can further our mission of improving the lives of children in the Burlington area."
